About the Institute
The Higher Institute for Infertility Diagnosis and Assisted Reproduction Technologies was established as a therapeutic center for infertility and its treatment in (1990). In (2000) it became an institute with academic, therapeutic and research duties at the postgraduate level, within the University of Baghdad and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq. Then, in (2005), the institute joined the formations of Al-Nahrain University. The institute is located in the Kadhimiya area near the Imamiyya Al-Kadhimiya (peace be upon them) Medical City. The institute has been internationally certified by the Postgraduate Medical Education Directory (PMED) of the FAIMER Foundation, which is one of the ECFMG institutions.
The Institute has close scientific relations with local and international fertility and reproduction associations. The Institute also has an active presence in conferences and scientific events in the fields of clinical reproductive physiology, fertility, assisted reproductive technologies, and genetic development. The Institute consists of two departments: the Department of Clinical Reproductive Physiology, which awards a higher diploma (equivalent to a master's) in assisted reproductive technologies and a doctorate in applied clinical reproduction, and the Department of Applied Embryology, which awards a master's degree in applied embryology.

The Institute seeks to achieve excellence in providing high-quality academic programs that are in line with scientific and medical developments in the field of infertility and its treatment at the local, regional and global levels, in order to achieve the highest rates of success in using in vitro fertilization techniques and reducing the problem of infertility.
The Institute's mission is focused on three axes: the first is to qualify and train scientific and medical cadres through postgraduate studies and academic research. The second is to provide distinguished clinical service to infertility patients, both women and men, including diagnostic and therapeutic aspects using the latest assisted reproduction technologies. The third axis is to maintain and develop the two previous axes through scientific and applied research that addresses the problems and obstacles facing infertility treatment processes in its various forms.
Granting scientific degrees in assisted reproductive technologies, applied embryology, and reproductive sciences in accordance with the conditions for granting scientific degrees approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Conducting clinical, applied and basic scientific research in the field of infertility, assisted reproductive technologies and embryology.
Providing diagnostic and therapeutic means in the field of infertility for men and women, using the latest modern scientific methods.
Training of scientific personnel on assisted reproductive technologies and applied embryology
Providing specialized scientific advice in the fields of infertility, its treatment, and reproductive sciences to official, private, and scientific bodies.
Opening specialized courses and workshops for cadres working in the Ministry of Health and Higher Education and the authorities
