Drug control

As part of the activities of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week program, the University Psychological Counseling Unit held a discussion session entitled:
"Drug trafficking: Organized crime networks and methods of combating them."
The episode was presented by M.M. Dalia Muhammad, and it addressed the analysis of the phenomenon of drug smuggling as one of the most dangerous forms of organized crime, while reviewing the network structures of these gangs and the mechanisms they rely on in transporting and distributing narcotic substances.
The lecturer also addressed, in a scientific and systematic manner, the strategies used to reduce drug smuggling, whether at the security, legal or societal level, while explaining at the same time the deterrent legal penalties stipulated by Iraqi legislation to confront this crime and protect society from its serious repercussions.
The session came within the framework of promoting university awareness and establishing a culture of drug prevention, and building students’ capabilities in understanding the dangers of organized crime and ways to confront it.
